This emigré returns at last ...
The remains of General Denikin have returned to Moscow, to the Donskoi Monastery. Another small step in the right direction, because without confronting the past there's no democratic political redemption. White Russia was either demonized or sanctified, and it's hard to keep a balanced view, but surely the February to October months in 1917 and the collapse of the non-Bolshevik forces was one of the saddest missed opportunities in recent political history. Imagine what could the mental health of Russia be today if the traumas of Oulianov and Djugashvili-ordered massacres and persecutions had never taken place?
